Recycling or recycling is the action and effect of recycling (apply a process on a material so that it can be reused). Recycling involves giving a new life to the material in question, which helps reduce resource consumption and degradation of planet.

The recycling treatment can be carried out totally or partially, according to each case. With some materials, it is possible to obtain a raw material, while others allow to generate a new product .

The basis of recycling is in the obtaining a matter premium or product from a waste . A good already used (such as an empty plastic bottle) can be used for garbage or recycling and acquire a new life cycle (by melting the plastic and using it in the manufacture of a new bottle, for example).

This means that recycling helps to combat the depletion of natural resources and also helps to eliminate waste effectively. By separating the waste according to its characteristics, it is possible to take advantage of some for recycling and dispose of the rest properly.

In recycling, therefore, they participate sorting plants (which separate the valuable waste from others) and recycling plants (where the waste is finally recycled or stored).

At the domestic level, it is possible to recycle the remains of vegetables and fruits to produce fertilizer, which can be used, in turn, for the creation of urban gardens. Without the need for large economic investments, it is possible to allocate some pots to the food plantation, which not only has a positive impact on our economy but also makes us less dependent on the market and more responsible.

Waste separation to encourage recycling can be done in the cities with the collaboration of the population, who must dump their waste in different containers: yellow (for packaging), blues (paper and cardboard), green (glasses), etc.

The fees Recycled worldwide are very varied. In Europe, for example, some countries have already exceeded the objective set by the European Environment Association (EEA), which requires by 2020 that at least 50% of household waste be recycled; Such is the case in Austria, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland. On the other hand there are countries such as England and Ireland, which have shown a considerable increase in the last decade, but have not yet reached 40%.

However, worldwide, a large percentage of resources continue to be wasted due to lack of adherence to a proposal as simple as separate the waste in different bags and deposit them in the indicated containers. While it is true that not all countries have the necessary infrastructure for their inhabitants to put their grain of sand, it is unfortunate that millions of people who do have the opportunity to collaborate ignore their responsibility.

Practice the recycling of waste It can collaborate with the reduction of greenhouse gases, in addition to preserving resources of great value, since the use of recycled materials reduces the damage we cause to the environment. According to a report issued by the EEA, thanks to the efforts made since 2001 to raise public awareness about these advantages, a reduction of 56% in CO2 emissions was achieved by 2010, equivalent to 38 million tons

It should be noted that countries that more have advanced in terms of their commitment to recycling do not necessarily owe their success to a spontaneous and deep understanding of the planet's needs; On the contrary, and as in many other fields, the most efficient tactic consists in the imposition of fines and penalties for non-compliance with the rules, which entails a series of expenses by the State to ensure the relevant control of the actions of the population.
